Hand Lettering

Portraits
I work primarily from photographs and can incorporate your additional preferences. I use 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper with lightfast watercolor paints. I also work in graphite or charcoal if requested.
If you’re interested in commissioning a portrait, send an e-mail to Danae@DanaeLukis.com and include:
• Size of the painting
• A digital photograph attached to an e-mail, highest resolution possible, or send a link to a web album. If you don’t have a digital copy, you can mail a photocopy (or original) or get a good quality scan of the photograph to send via e-mail.
• Anything you specifically like or dislike about the photograph (or general preferences to keep in mind for the painting)
Selecting a photograph for the painting
Pictures taken with natural light work well for paintings. If possible, take pictures outdoors or near natural light to avoid using a flash. However, if you have a favorite picture that was taken with a flash, I can definitely still use it for a painting. It’s also helpful, but not necessary, to send additional photographs of the subject(s) so that I can get as much visual information as possible. If you are unsure about choosing a photograph, feel free to send a few, and I can help you choose.
Pricing
9×12: $175 for one figure, $20 for each additional figure (2 figures max. for 9×12)
11×14: $200 for one figure, $20 for each additional figure
12×16: $225 for one figure, $20 for each additional figure
16×20: $250 for one figure, $20 for each additional figure
18×24: $275 for one figure, $40 for each additional figure
22×30: $325 for one figure, $50 for each additional figure
Shipping (includes insurance): $10, $15 for 18×24 and larger.
Artwork will be sealed in plastic and backed with foamcore or cardboard to prevent damage.
Commissioning other subjects
I will be happy to work with you to create a custom painting of other subjects (pets, houses, nature, landscape, etc.). Please contact me to discuss pricing and details.
